Senchi
Swimsuit/Top: Shelter Kings's Cross
Skirt: Swapped (Nuw Wardrobe)
Earrings: Mero Retro
Necklace: Omolola Jewellery
Heels: Old Pair from Bata
It was an unforgettable stay at The Royal Senchi in Akosombo, Ghana. A perfect green haven of palm trees and the greenest of grass perched at the mouth of the Volta Lake. Being in the hustle-bustle of Accra, made me want a nature escape. I loved that the resort allowed excursions on the lake with canoes and other boats as well. That aside, I enjoyed lounging all day in this secondhand swimsuit that I found barely worn at the Shelter shop in King's Cross. I also often wear it as a top (see here). I paired it with this brown swapped skirt which accentuated the earthy tone of the look. The jewellery added the perfect touch of gold: the Africa Layered cowrie necklace is from Omolola Jewellery. I love cowrie for its significance in West African culture as a symbol of prosperity. My swan-shaped earrings are from Mero Retro, a vintage haven with repurposed pieces and some fantastic vintage jewellery. Senchi means "come back" and there's no doubt I'll be returning to this beautiful oasis.
