Earrings & Necklace: Loft and Daughter
Top: Swapped
Skirt: Mind Charity Shop
Bag: Vinted
Shoes: Old pair
Let's talk about jewellery. I'm very picky about them but once in a while, I find some treasures that take my breath away. Just like this earring and necklace combo from Loft & Daughter. Their jewellery is inspired by India and ethically made there through a fairtrade organisation. Traditionally, larger amulets like the one on the necklace would contain sacred prayers and mantras. The hoops, on the other hand, are inspired by the conical shapes seen on jewellery worn by women in the desert they are named after the Thar desert. I love the stories and culture behind these pieces, there is a sense of pride in knowing there is the preservation of culture within them, but most importantly the preservation of the livelihood of their makers. The rest of my look is all secondhand: the dusty pink velvet t-shirt was swapped and provides a perfect enhancement of the gold jewellery. My leather skirt was a steal from Mind Charity. The sunglasses, something burrowed from my boyfriend and finally the shoes, I got from a friend years ago. Oups, I forgot the lovely leather backpack which is another steal from Vinted! I'm hoping the weather will brighten up again so I can wear this all over again!
