As 2018 comes to a close, I can't help but be proud of my year. I've managed to shop sustainably all year, discovered lots of amazing sustainable and ethical brands and become a pro vintage and second-hand pieces finder. 

This shoot is an ode to my two absolute favourite finds of 2018. Both vintage of course.

The velvet jacket is not only in my favourite colour but is also reversible, the inner side of the jacket is a beautiful work of art that can also be worn outwardly. Most importantly, every time I wear this piece, I feel like a queen dripping in velvet gold. I still remember finding it one afternoon at the Brick lane vintage market as its golden velvet shimmer caught my eye on a rack packed with other items.

The velvet rose dress is from ASOS marketplace. A goldmine for vintage, second hand and independent boutique pieces. It came all the way from a vintage boutique in New York and I absolutely adore it. It's a piece I will be wearing on special occasions for years to come, including the coming festive season (hello Christmas!)

Overall, vintage saved my life this year! Finding unique pieces like these two have been an absolute thrill and I can't wait to keep finding gems like this in the years to come.
